Two decades ago, a scared, excited, and naïve boy slept in his car in downtown D.C. for three nights. The bright lights and supposed glamour of K Street and 1600 Pennsylvania Ave were a long way from the small-town dairy farm where I grew up.
It was lonely but I was full of hope. Sweaty palms, big dreams, too many episodes of The West Wing, and the journey began.
When I first started this company, I knew that my story and the stories of ordinary people, authentically told, had real power. We built a company that sought to amplify those authentic voices and communities to create meaningful impact for our clients. Nearly 15 years later, I’m proud to see our evolution as we have grown and expanded the ways in which we are able to deliver on this vision.
Today, with practices in strategic insights, stakeholder engagement, public relations, coalition building and community marketing, we are leaders in engaging diverse audiences in the U.S. and around the world for leading corporations, associations, and nonprofits. As our clients and impact have grown, so has our company. That’s why I am excited to share some big news with you.
As you can see on this website, we are updating our name from Locust Street Group to LSG and refreshing our brand identity to better showcase the breadth and depth of expertise that are core to LSG’s value now and central to where we plan to grow in the future.
This change may seem simple. It is. But it isn’t just an abbreviation. This refreshed look and feel represents our company’s mission to partner with our clients to grow, evolve, and protect their brands and reputations. Because, at our core, we are an IMPACT agency.
We use our deep expertise in brand building, corporate reputation management, and public affairs to help solve complex challenges and make a lasting IMPACT on the communities that our clients touch.
As we look ahead to the future, I feel the same excitement (and fear) that I felt all those years ago still today. But this time, I don’t feel alone at all.
I am surrounded by a team of joyful warriors and amazing teammates who lift me up and partner with each other to drive meaningful IMPACT and purpose. These same people who support me are the reason for the growth at LSG and the force behind our client’s success. Our people are the difference. They are what makes LSG special, and it is because of them that we begin our new journey today!
